Incumbent Advantage - All candidates

The charts below show the enormous financial advantage enjoyed by incumbents in the 2006 elections. That's one of the reasons reelection rates are so high. In 2004, 98 percent of House incumbents were reelected (excluding incumbents facing incumbents), as were 96 percent of incumbent Senators.
