Western governments have taken far too long to recognise the powerful broadcasting mechanisms in place in western Asia. Although outreach efforts are improving, western governments are still doing far too little. Furthermore, unless western governments directly speak to the real and perceived grievances mentioned above, such public relations manoeuvres will have little effect.
