The CAJ remains concerned that some media outlets view tying news coverage to advertising as an acceptable practice. One such example is the Alberta Fairview Post, part of the Bowes Publishers Ltd. chain. Its publisher last week verified a reader's suspicions that a large local event was not covered because its organizers hadn't purchased advertising, but maintains editorial space is not for sale.
