In order for it to work put the file in your levels directory.

Open up the editor.

Once your level is opened, click on MODIFY > LOAD OBJECTS > and seach for the ELEVATOR it should now appear in your level somewhere.

The best trick is to press "go to selected object" which is shown in the picture 3 below or you can also use VIEW > OPEN VIEW PLANE > SELECT OBJECTS > ON THE BOTTOM UNDER FAST SELECT TYPE IN ELEVATOR AND HIT SELECT.
