Wikibooks is a Wikimedia project set up July 10, 2003. Since then, volunteers have written around 6381 book modules in a multitude of books.
Play around in the sandbox, a place where you can do anything and get a feel for how wiki works. See the mailing list or planning page to discuss current issues, or drop by the staff lounge. The talk page for this module is also the place to bring up issues about this page.
When you are ready to edit or create your first page, the How to edit a page and How to start a page pages will get you started. They also serve as handy references for Wiki syntax & markup. To create a new Wikibook, refer to How to start a book. If you feel the bookshelves should be cleaned up, help to update development stages Development stage: 100% (as of Jan 23, 2005).
