Honestly, I find the write-up particularly shallow. Is Punk really subsumed under Punk Rock? Can't we get some analysis of the social implications of the nascent movement (or "buzz")? As Lindsea said, where are the students? Thankfully, some of these issues are being addressed by a number of people and this short CHE piece was probably one of the first ones to give the term some mainstream attention. Let's hope we won't all fall into the groupthink trap.

Edupunk seems to be a reaction against the rise of course-managements systems, which offer cookie-cutter tools that can make every course Web site look the same

Universities need to start providing fully capable (i.e. with MySQL, PHP, and whatever else) and BLANK webspace for faculty to do what they want in.
