I like this phrase!
He should have the sense to know that he cannot interact with the material that Enns is working with. He simply cannot and has not read the ancient Near Eastern literature. He does not read Akkadian or Sumerian, nor does he even understand the script. It is not lamentable that he cannot read the primary sources

If there once was a consensus that belief in inspiration presupposed or entailed a certain commitment to maintaining the integrity of Scripture, this consensus now no longer exists.

give me a break, it has NOTHING to do with the integrity of scriptures! It is difference in view of inspiration only! Can there be different views, after all?
