Australia is hosting a three-day international meeting to discuss the impact of deforestation in the Asian region on global greenhouse gas emissions.
The government has put $200 million towards protecting forests from illegal logging.
But Greenpeace's Stephen Campbell says the Government should invest in renewable energy at home to cut greenhouse gasses rather than investing offshore.
